Memorable New Year’s Eve

My wife and I made our 1st visit to the Canal Side Inn on New Year’s Eve. The wait staff was very accommodating and sat us right away. The service was prompt and courteous. Our waitress appeared each time we had a question without hovering and was very pleasant. Chef John was very sociable and made a point to visit each table and converse with everyone. He made a Lobster mac & cheese as a special appetizer for us and we enjoyed it so much we ordered a full portion to take home with us. I had the Filet Mignon which was full of flavor and prepared exactly as requested. My wife was intrigued by the description of “Chef John’s Signature Bleu Crabe Églefin” which she chose for dinner. A generous portion without being too much. The combination of flavors made for an enjoyable meal. In all, we had a memorable New Year’s Eve at The Canal Side Inn and look forward to a return visit

Wonderful Improvements

My wife and I have dined at the Canal Side numerous times over the years so we were slightly skeptical about the new owners and their vision of the restaurant. As soon as we arrived, we were put at ease to see wonderful improvements to what was always one of our favorite places to eat!

The changes were subtle but pleasantly noticeable- they modernized the “Canal Side magic” while keeping everything we love about the place. Maintaining much of the original staff, they offer professional service with a warmth you can’t find elsewhere and the new chef expresses himself with a range of tasty dishes and even comes out to the tables to check on his guests!

A truly wonderful experience

We heard that Chef John was the new chef at the Canal Side and immediately made a reservation — we “experienced” Chef John at Teugega Country Club and were determined to follow him to his next destination.

We were not disappointed. Upon arrival, Chef John greeted us and made several outstanding recommendations that we truly enjoyed. After dinner, one of the owners came to our table and chatted with us about the restaurant and the community; she was truly interested in our input and comments.

Put this restaurant on your bucket list

It’s a beautiful restaurant that was Canal Side Inn. It has been purchased and is now Henry’s with a new staff. The bar is a booming place to sit down with a drink and order from the menu. They have a lovely dining room and the wait staff are extremely accommodating. Put this restaurant on your bucket list next time you visit Little Falls NY.

Recommend to families

The food was delicious, the service exceptional. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. We came with two children who were welcomed and the staff, chef and owners made a point to go out of their way to make sure our children were enjoying their experience as much as we were! The chef came out to speak to each table as did the owners who were gracious and very considerate. I would recommend this to families interested in a fantastic meal but also couples looking for a great date night.
